Dropping Unique Constraints in SQL Server Durable Link to this entry

We had a customer who was having trouble removing a SQL Server constraint. Even removing the column and re-adding didn't help.

You can't even DROP INDEX command.

The trick is to use ALTER TABLE command with DROP CONSTRAINT

Example:

alter table dbo.Projects drop constraint [UQ__Projects__46B27FE2]
