 The Blue Screen of Death

The Blue Screen of Death (a.k.a. BSod) happens when a computer system, typically powered by Microsoft Operating System crashes.

The causes for the blue screen can be several -- from a computer virus infection, to a failed hard disk drive or a memory chip.

The failures occur all the time in a computer system during the course of its usage, lost network packets, failed printer jobs, mis-behaving programs but the operating system is designed to recover from them. The BSod happens when the Windows Operating System cannot recover by itself.
